Studio Brookes was started by a queer couple, Bailey Brookes (they/she) and Austin Brookes (they/them) in early 2023. Bailey and Austin are ceramic artists based in Durham, North Carolina. They appreciate the fact that clay invites us to slow down and create intentionally. Bailey and Austin work together to create unique, functional wares. Bailey typically throws and sculpts the pieces, then Austin adds texture and glaze. Most of their inspiration stems from nature and the human figure.
